I like clothes only if there is a "body" that wears them.
I found really interesting when people are acting a role, when they are able to combine colors, when they walk on the street following their own story.
I think gesture and shapes are what really turns me on.
Fashion illustration is just an excuse to draw portraits, to catch the life "behind" clothes.

Ferenc Pintér – nato ad Alassio nel 1931, da padre ungherese e madre fiorentina - è stato probabilmente il più importante illustratore contemporaneo. Le sue illustrazioni (comprese quelle pubblicitarie), propongono una strabiliante varietà di tecniche compositive e di soluzioni espressive, eppure risultano riconoscibili, non solo per lo stile che si esterna nell’utilizzo delle forme e dei colori, ma soprattutto per l’approccio comunicativo dell’immagine, per l’impostazione che rende l’effettiva visualizzazione di un’idea. Davanti a una qualunque opera di Pintér si riesce, quindi, a cogliere sempre la forza specifica dell’illustrazione, quale mezzo comunicativo che permette di esprimere con forza e chiarezza, idee che non potrebbero essere rese attraverso alcun altro codice.

Le sue prime opere risalgono alla fine degli anni Quaranta e la produzione dell’artista è proseguita fino alla sua scomparsa, nel febbraio 2008: nel complesso della sua lunga attività, si possono quindi individuare senza troppo sforzo i riflessi delle variazioni e degli umori della cultura europea negli ultimi cinquant’anni. Più facile ancora scorgere le influenze di Pintér sulle opere di diversi illustratori, grafici e disegnatori di fumetti che si sono affermati a partire dai primi anni Settanta, soprattutto in Italia, e che, in molti casi, hanno assimilato la sua lezione principalmente attraverso le copertine degli “Oscar” Mondadori, la collana di romanzi in edizione tascabile più popolare e diffusa nel nostro Paese.

Chi, negli ultimi trent’anni, ha preso in mano un libro di George Simenon o di Agatha Christie, di Cesare Pavese o di Grazia Deledda, di John Steinbeck o di Ernest Hemingway (o di Ken Follet, o di Isaac Singer, o di Jack Keruack) con ogni probabilità si è imbattuto in un’immagine creata da Ferenc Pintér, assimilandone quasi inconsciamente la grammatica interiore e fruendone come una sorta di lasciapassare poetico per accedere all’universo letterario racchiuso nelle pagine interne.

Da quasi quattro anni, quando sono in west coast, mi connetto per strada. Grazie ad airport, captando modem liberi da restrizioni. Divertente per un po'. El "deslizamento marino" es una forma de acuarela elevada a la enésima potencia.
Producir imágenes, inventando nuevas formas es como hacer una maniobra guapa, donde la tabla se integra en el agua con estilo. Ambas son buenas para el alma. El arte es una promesa de felicidad. El surf era "felicidad" de inmediato.
Las dos actividades se complementas en ese momento,una alimenta a la otra y viceversa.

Negli ultimi dieci anni ho frequentato ambienti molto diversi. Redazioni dove si scrivono pagine di "brand new", evocando sogni attraverso il consumo-possesso. Gallerie newyorchesi, con artisti affermati, che espongono alla biennale e nel super museo. Modelle che diventano stylist, nostalgiche. Università di moda con studenti che si comportano da rockstar e passeggiano fieri nel corridoio, tacco 12 muniti. Sogni inseguiti e sogni raggiunti. Artisti un po' meno conosciuti, che si struggono, nella sete di visibilità, eternamente alla ricerca di qualcosa che non sanno neanche bene loro cosa sia. Pi erre simpatiche, pi erre acide, pi erre che fanno le pi erre. Modellisti pazienti e molto professionali, sempre con il metro in spalla e le spille sulla giacca. Stilisti sconosciuti, designer giovani e sgamatissimi. E poi milioni di surfisti. Surfisti che fanno gli idraulici, gli architetti, i bagnini. L'unica cosa che conta è poter prendere "quell'aereo" o "quell'onda". Come tutti i mondi che ho conosciuto, intendiamoci, anche quello del surf è autoreferenziale. Tuttavia si respira un'atmosfera di ricerca, una tensione verso l'assoluto...
Il sogno è sempre li, sullo sfondo, a fare da protagonista.

Over the past ten years I have seen many different environments. Editors writing pages of "brand new", evoking dreams through the consumption-possession. New York galleries, with established artists, exhibiting at the Biennale and super museum. Models that become stylist, nostalgic. University fashion students who act like rock stars and walk proudly in the hallway, fitted heel 12. Chased dreams and dreams achieved. Artists a bit 'less known' thirsty for visibility, eternally in search of something (they not even know what is). PR nice, PR more "acid", PR doing PR. Modelers patients and very professional, always with the tape on his shoulder and pins on his jacket. Young designers very cunning & clever. And then millions of surfers. Surfers who are plumbers, architects, lifeguards. The only thing that matters is to take "that plane" or "that wave". Like all the environnements I know, the surfing scene is also quite self-referential. However, you can feel an atmosphere of research, a tension to the absolute ...

La scena contenuta in abisso è nitida e ben definita, come fossimo in presenza di un effetto televisivo realizzato in "chroma key". (quando un colore, in genere il verde e il blu, viene virtualmente "bucato", reso elettronicamente trasparente).
Con queste immagini parlo di cio' che conosco bene, ovvero il femminile. Il mezzo è familiare, l'amata (?) pittura. E Il surf? Fonte di ispirazione, conoscenza, potenza, determinazione.

The medium is familiar, my beloved (?) painting. The surf? Source of inspiration, knowledge, power, determination.

La musica degli Anomic Suicide raccontata da suggestive immagini:
Frammenti di vissuto, note musicali tatuate sul corpo e nel ricordo... La mano di Andy registra, fedele, matura, ironica. Fotogrammi realmente esistiti si mescolano a ritratti dal segno raffinato. Nonostante l'estetica sia decisamente "low profile", niente è lasciato al caso.
